So let’s talk about a wedding during COVID.

I know it seems nearly impossible but it is absolutely doable. I, myself, was a “Corona bride”. We had everything set for a destination wedding in May 2020 but 1 month prior we made the tough decision to postpone it to August 2020. We had our hopes that we could still have our full wedding (ceremony & reception) but soon realized that this virus is here to stay.

Due to the county’s guidelines, we accepted the fact that we wouldn’t be able to have a reception but we were determined to still get married and have a ceremony. I began starting from scratch and finding a new venue locally. Once I found one, I knew we had to follow the strict guidelines to keep our family and friends safe.
Our small and intimate wedding consisted of keeping households 6 feet apart and assigned seating. We gifted our guests with personalized face masks that read “Spread love, not germs” and a handheld fan to keep cool. We also had bottled Voss water instead of a communal water dispenser.

Months and weeks leading up to our wedding ceremony, things were ever changing and we weren’t even sure if we could still get married. Things were shutting down, then opening up, then shutting down again. It was an emotional roller coaster and stress levels were high. In the end, we rolled with the punches, received the “green light” from the county to have our ceremony, and it was the best day of our lives. All of our guests felt safe, enjoyed themselves, and no one contracted virus from the wedding.
Alora Events is here to help all the fellow “Corona brides” during these difficult times and take that stress off your hands. With our experience with a COVID Wedding, we can still make your dream wedding happen. ✨
